The SunShot Hackathon will be held at the DOE's SunShot Grand Challenge Summit in Anaheim, CA at 5pm on May 21. For 24 hours, teams of programmers, user experience designers and product managers will develop web and mobile applications to help make going solar easier, faster, cheaper and much more fun. 

Hosted by the SunShot Initiative and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), this one-of-a-kind event will feature rich energy datasets, tools, and application programming interfaces (APIs) from NREL and serveral SunShot Incubator awardees incuding Geostellar, Genability, Solarnexus, SunNumber, and Clean Power Research

This collaboration will open new data sets in a unique public-private partnership and harness the innovative talent of the software community’s capabilities and resources—all focused on advancing solar technology in an exciting new way.

The event, which is free for the first 50 registrants, is open to teams of programmers, product designers, media producers, software pros, and energy experts who will brainstorm and collaborate to build web and mobile apps aimed at accelerating adoption of solar technologies.
