This category is for the best mashup of APIs and datasets that help consumers, businesses, and utilities go solar with fun and engaging user experiences. This is open to all types of business solutions and installation methods. 

BEST APP THAT MAKES SELLING SOLAR CHEAPER:

This category is for the best mashup of APIs and datasets that help solar energy providers become price competitive and operationally lean. This app’s target users are solar developers, utilities, investors, and local jurisdictions.

BEST SOLAR MEDIA CAMPAIGN:

This category is for the best use of datasets, APIs, visuals, and messaging for creating engaging, dynamics, and viral media campaigns that will accelerate the understanding and use of solar energy.

ADDITIONAL RULES:

• New Code/Development: In the spirit of finding new innovative solutions, we recommend that every starts with new ideas and concepts. You can form your teams in advance; make logos, digital mockups or other prep work. However, coding should be done during the 24 hour Hackathon time frame. 
• Team formation: Teams can have up to 10 members. Not all members have to be physically present. Team members can participate online. No restrictions on team formation, but ideal team should consist of all the talents needed.   
• Presentation: In addition to your creation, all teams must deliver a 3 minute presentation for judges and audience and an optional 30 sec summary video.
